金山 (群馬県)の頂上にある山城であり、現在は、本丸跡とされている地点に新田神社がある。背後の斜面には石垣の一部が残存しており、往時の様子を現在に伝える。関東平野を一望に収めることができ、西方は一段低くなっており「日ノ池」「月ノ池」がある。西南には二の丸跡、三の丸跡と呼ばれる曲輪が残り、これら曲輪につながる尾根群には堀切が設けられている。また南曲輪には中島飛行機の創設者である中島知久平の胸像が建てられている。また、大手門は櫓門で、物見櫓は木だけで骨組みを建てた物で、名古屋城のような城ではなく砦のような城であった。また、大手門、木塀、物見櫓、柵といった建物の木造復元計画は予算の関係でない。
「戦国時代の関東の山城には本格的な石垣普請の城はない」という従来の定説が発掘調査で覆されたほど、多くの石垣が多用されている。

This is a mountain castle at the top of Kanayama (Gunma Prefecture), and Nitta Shrine is currently located at the site of the main citadel. Part of the stone wall remains on the slope behind it, and it tells us what it was like in the past. It offers a panoramic view of the Kanto Plain, and to the west, which is one level lower, there are Hinoike and Tsuki-no-ike. To the southwest, there are the remains of the Ninomaru and Sannomaru moats, and the ridges connecting these moats have moats. In the southern moat, there is a bust of Nakajima Chikuhei, the founder of Nakajima Aircraft. The main gate is a turret gate, and the watchtower is a wooden frame, so it was not a castle like Nagoya Castle, but a fortress-like castle. In addition, there are no plans to restore the main gate, wooden walls, watchtowers, and fences to wooden structures due to budgetary constraints.
The conventional wisdom that "there were no full-scale stone-walled mountain castles in the Kanto region during the Warring States period" was overturned by excavation surveys, as so many stone walls were used.
It has been selected as one of Japan's 100 most famous castles.

こちらは新田のお城なので、同じ源氏の徳川家康が、庇護していた様です。守りの鉄壁なお城ですね、石垣は迫力あります。

石垣がかなり立派ですね　きちんと加工されているように見えます

スマホのアカウントで返信していました。　この石垣は奥になるほど狭いです。遠近法で遠く感じさせるためだと言われています。
